Horizontal Evo - Pathos Horizontal Reels for Freediving and Spearfishing
Horizontal Evo is the line of horizontal Pathos reels featuring a compact, rugged design, engineered for use in spearfishing and freediving. The reel structure is made from glass-filled nylon to ensure lightness and mechanical strength, while the central axle is reinforced with a stainless steel core for long-term stability and durability.
The main body features a line-retaining cage and is equipped with a nylon roller that keeps the line in position during unspooling and rewinding, optimizing smooth operation and practicality in the water.
Easy Release Safety System
Horizontal Evo integrates the Easy Release safety system, based on an adjustable drag with a steel spring. This mechanism is designed to allow the line to unspool freely when hunting large fish or at greater depths, preventing braking that could hinder the diver’s ascent.
The reel also features a control knob located on the lower section (as on the Horizontal 40 model), allowing the drag to be easily engaged or disengaged according to operating needs.
Compatibility and Variants
The reel is compatible with all Pathos spearguns and mounts via a base screwed to the barrel and a slide-rail system for secure, stable attachment.
It is available in two sizes, differentiated by line capacity:
- Horizontal 40: capacity 50 meters of 1.5 mm diameter dyneema
- Horizontal 50: capacity 60 meters of 1.5 mm diameter dyneema
Available colors are Black, Grey, and Brown, to suit the freediver’s preferences and provide camouflage in the water.
