Replacement water rails for freediving blades

Water rails are the side profiles applied to the edges of the blade to channel water flow during the kick, reducing lateral dispersion and vortex formation along the outer edges. With use, they may wear out or partially detach and can be replaced with the spare profiles available in the catalog. Two distinct types are available, differing in cross-section and function: the constant-section C4 profile and the Salvimar T-profile.

Available models

C4 Kit Water Rails Constant - Constant-section rubber profile, 10 mm high, 1 meter long. Compatible with C4 carbon or composite blades and with blades from other brands. The constant section ensures uniform containment of water flow along the entire length of the blade. Application is by bonding with cyanoacrylate adhesive to the blade surface, after cleaning the substrate.

Salvimar Rubber T-Profile - T-section rubber protection for carbon fiber or other composite blades. The T-section wraps around the side edge of the blade, providing mechanical protection for the edge itself while also helping contain water flow. Sold by the meter. Compatible with carbon fiber blades and other composite materials.

Differences between the two profiles

The constant-section C4 profile is designed primarily to optimize hydrodynamic containment of water flow across the blade surface. The Salvimar T-profile, on the other hand, has a geometry that wraps around the blade edge, also providing mechanical protection for the carbon or composite fiber edge against accidental impacts. The choice between the two depends on the type of blade being used and the main function required: flow containment or edge protection.

Application

Both profiles are applied by bonding them to the blade. The application surface must be clean and free of residue to ensure proper adhesion. The profile length should be cut according to the actual size of the blade. No additional mounting kits are required.
