Horizontal 40 is a horizontal reel made from glass-filled nylon with a central steel core that ensures strength and mechanical resistance. The main body features a cage-style design for effective line retention, providing optimal balance during use underwater.
The reel is equipped with a small nylon cylinder that keeps the line in place, ensuring smooth, orderly handling during payout and retrieval in the water. This system improves practicality and helps prevent tangles, making power transfer easier when spearfishing.
Easy Release Safety System
Like all Pathos reels, the Horizontal 40 incorporates the Easy Release safety system, based on an adjustable drag with a steel spring. This technology allows the line to pay out automatically, which is essential for handling large fish on deep dives, allowing the spearfisher to ascend without restrictions or braking.
Construction Details and Compatibility
The drag control knob is positioned on the lower part of the reel and, although it does not fold horizontally for compactness reasons, it rotates on an arm that increases its effective rotation diameter. This feature makes it easier to retrieve the line even under load.
Horizontal 40 is compatible with all Pathos spearguns and installs easily thanks to the base screwed to the speargun barrel. Mounting is carried out by sliding it onto the rail, ensuring stability and quick attachment.
