Meandros Mitos 5 and Mitos V14 Reel for spearfishing
The Meandros Mitos 5 Reel is a large vertical reel, designed specifically for spearfishing and freediving. Equipped with a self-releasing drag, it ensures precise control during dives.
The spool features a plastic shaft combined with two lightened stainless steel discs with ribs that ensure an optimal balance between light weight and mechanical rigidity. This configuration reduces overall weight and volume while maintaining the essential strength needed to withstand stress in the water.
The lightened spool also promotes better drying of the line, preventing rot and keeping the line in optimal condition. The frame is attached to the spool via 3-axis spacers positioned around the spool itself, preventing potential line tangles during use.
The reel is equipped with an extendable arm, which makes rewinding the line significantly easier, improving efficiency and comfort during dives.
Line attachment system
The reel features an innovative line attachment system using an angled hole on the spool axle, allowing the line to be inserted and held securely in place. The line also passes through a second hole in the knob-drag system, where it is secured with a simple yet effective stopper knot. This system prevents accidental loss and maximizes spool capacity by keeping the inside free of knots, ensuring maximum reliability while spearfishing.
Mounting and compatibility
The Meandros Mitos 5 can be easily mounted on any wooden speargun using simple screws. It is also compatible with plastic or stainless steel trigger guards and with many plastic handles from commercial models, ensuring excellent versatility.
