Hunt Target Trigger Mechanisms for Freediving and Spearfishing Spearguns

The Hunt Target trigger mechanisms are made from AISI 316 stainless steel, ensuring mechanical strength and durability even in underwater environments. They integrate a line retention system (line release) with a side-mounted design, which acts on the side of the sear, keeping trigger pull weight consistent even under high line tension.

Technical and Construction Features

• Materials: Blackened AISI 316 Stainless Steel with anti-reflective treatment, levers with minimum 60 HRC hardness and polished surfaces to reduce roughness.
• Mechanism dimensions: 47 mm long mechanism housing, 16 mm thick, 18 mm high, optimized for compact installation in the speargun barrel.
• Line release: Positioned on the right, 22 mm long, 2.5 mm thick, reversible for right- or left-side mounting by simply unscrewing the pin.
• Trigger pull weight: Variable from 1.5 kg to 180 kg of shaft load, supports up to 5-6 bands with 16 mm diameter and 320% stretch.
• Safety test: Tensile strength up to 500 kg.
• Fixing pins: Welded and treated to 48 HRC, ensuring solid fastening and tamper-resistant safety.
• Noise-reduction system: Rubber inserts eliminate the typical trigger click, reducing detection by fish.
• Trigger: Semi-curved shape inspired by semi-automatic hunting shotguns, with a short and highly intuitive travel for excellent trigger feel and smooth release.

Available Versions

The Hunt Target mechanisms are available in four variants, each developed for specific spearfishing needs:

1. Target 2 Standard: Rear-set, compact mechanism with excellent release feel.
2. Target 2 Combat: Designed to support a high number of bands, with a lightened housing and slim side profile. The levers feature high surface hardness (minimum 60HRC).
3. Target 2 Match: Allows the trigger position to be adjusted within a 10 mm range (5 mm forward and 5 mm back) and rotated for customized ergonomics based on the position of the first phalanx of the index finger during the shooting motion.
4. Target 2 Match Combat: Combines the features of the Combat version with the Match trigger position adjustment.

Functional Details

• The very long levers reduce the force required on the trigger, increasing sensitivity and accuracy during the shot.
• The rear-set position of the mechanism allows an additional 4-5 cm of band propulsion stroke to be used, optimizing the energy transferred to the shaft.
• The dual spring, on the trigger and on the shaft sear, ensures secure and reliable engagement of the shaft.
• Blackened screws and countersunk seats provide a clean, understated look and reduce reflections that could disturb the spearfisher.
