The detachable tip BIG GAME DYNEEMA SLIP-TIP, developed by HUNT to advanced technical specifications, sets a benchmark for accuracy and strength in bluewater hunting. This model is valued by experienced freedivers and spearfishers for its reliability and robustness when fighting fast, powerful pelagic fish.

Technical features of the detachable tip

• Detachable tip with 9 mm diameter in heat-treated 17.4 PH steel, featuring a hand-sharpened tri-cut point for a clean, incisive cut through flesh, optimized for secure holding during spearfishing.
• Line guide ring (Slide-Ring) in AISI 316 stainless steel, angled and tumbled to ensure smooth sliding and durability. Available with a 3.0 mm or 3.5 mm hole, suitable for different shaft sizes.
• Adapter point in 17.4 PH steel with a diameter of 9.0 or 10.0 mm for high mechanical strength and optimal force transfer to the target.
• Special Dyneema cable, made with high-strength, low-stretch materials to ensure a breaking load of up to 550 kg, essential for maintaining strength and reliability during spearfishing.

Assembly and compatibility

The three main elements of the tip (tip, adapter point, and Slide-Ring) are connected by an in-house manufactured double Dyneema line, ensuring high mechanical hold and allowing the cable to be replaced. The tip is Available with four Slide-Ring options for 7.5, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0 mm diameter shafts, and is compatible with M6, M7, and 5/16 threads, with M7 threading as the European standard.

Operation and advantages in spearfishing

The Slip-Tip system provides controlled detachment of the front section of the tip once it has penetrated the fish, positioning it crosswise inside the flesh. This mechanism prevents the fish from using the shaft as leverage, reducing the risk of the shaft breaking or the fish being lost. It is especially suited to bluewater hunting, particularly on fast pelagic species with soft flesh, such as Wahoo.

Even in the event of partial penetration, the Slip-Tip design significantly increases the likelihood of landing the fish, thanks to its transverse self-retaining action, which improves hold on the spear during the ascent.
