Blades for Spearfishing Fins

Blades are the beating heart of freediving and spearfishing fins: much of the propulsion, efficiency, and comfort during the fin stroke depends on their quality and construction material. In this category, you’ll find a selection of the best blades available on the market, in plastic, fiberglass, carbon, and Innegra (special fiber), to pair with your favorite foot pocket.

Blade Materials

Blades are mainly made from three materials: plastic, fiberglass, and carbon, as well as some advanced composites such as Innegra fiber mixed with carbon fiber.

Plastic: the most affordable and accessible material, ideal for beginners or those on a limited budget. Today’s plastic blades deliver performance that was unimaginable in the past.

Fiberglass (VTR): a composite that is more efficient than plastic, with an excellent value for money. High-end fiberglass blades can offer performance comparable to, or sometimes superior to, many carbon blades.

Carbon: the highest-performing material overall, providing superior elastic return, extreme lightness, and performance that lasts over time. It is the ideal choice for experienced freedivers and spearfishers.

Long, Medium, or Short Blade

Blades are available in different lengths, from extra-long versions (up to 95 cm), better suited to experienced freedivers and long-distance swimming, to medium and short versions, which are more maneuverable and versatile, also ideal for shallow-water spearfishing.

Blade Stiffness

Choosing the right stiffness (Soft, Medium, Hard) depends on several factors: the user’s height and weight, training level, type of use, and environmental conditions. A blade that is too stiff can over-fatigue the legs, reducing breath-hold times.
